Re: SDCARD

That looks like the file system index sector was clobbered. That's bad news. You might be able to retrieve some files using a recovery utility. Recuva is one of the better ones. The free edition should be enough. If that doesn't work, the paid version won't either. Recuva is normally used to recover...

Re: HLG - Hybrid Log Gamma

If you were going to buy a new HDTV that had HDR capability, you might want to get one that could support or be firmware upgraded to support HLG provided it didn't cost an arm and a leg to do so. HLG is definitely not a show stopper right now -- I haven't heard of anyone broadcasting HLG content yet...

Re: Burning to DVD

A green colored bar indicates that the clip has been rendered and a preview file exists -- it doesn't need rendering again to preview efficiently. A grey bar indicates that Premiere Elements doesn't think the clip needs to be rendered to preview efficiently -- no preview file will be created. Any ot...

Re: project suggestions to avoid disaster

Just a supplemental note: Premiere (Pro and Elements) does not properly handle variable frame rate video. Adobe has said that will be addressed but, as far as I can tell, it hasn't happened yet. Typically, the result will be audio out of sync with the video. Until Adobe fixes that, the best solution...

Re: DVD player power supply circuit strange behavior

Check the voltage regulator ICs. In a power supply like this, the regulator establishes the voltage. Typically, there will be a 12v and a 5v regulator IC. A 17v level suggests the 12V regulator may be bad.

Re: Shoot at 4K/30 but edit with Elements 2018 on 1080 timel

The technique of downscaling a higher resolution video to a lower resolution video to get a higher apparent sharpness has been around a while. I remember seeing lots of posts recommending doing that with HD to SD back when HD first became available in consumer level camcorders. The problem of doing ...

Re: Serious PC Upgrade

But (correct me if I'm wrong, Bob) if a 64-bit program is installed on a 32-bit operating system, it will still be limited by the operating system. In other words, it will not be able to access more than 3-4 gigs of RAM. You cannot install a 64-bit program on a 32-bit Operating system. You can inst...

Re: Serious PC Upgrade

Just to clarify one part of your question, 32 bit and 64 bit versions affect only the OS and program modules -- not the project files or media files. The editor installation program should install the bit version that matches your OS. The project files and media files are not dependent on the OS bit...

Re: Nested sequences not updating in CS4 PP

Tim, Changes to the nested sequence are reflected in the containing sequence. But, you are forgetting that sequences have in and out points just like regular video clips. When you place something on a timeline, the in and out points as they are on the timeline are remembered. Essentially, you are cr...

You have to register your drone -- again

FYI, President Trump signed the 2018 National Defence Authorization a couple of days ago. Buried in the the legislation there is a mandatory requirement that drones be registered and the number displayed on the drone. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://muvipix.com/phpBB3/images/mobile.png

Re: Popping Christmas Bulbs

What type of computer are you using, Mike? And, which browser? I don't have a solution -- just curious. I've noticed that using my Windows desktop PC, I get the bulbs and the sound. But, using my android based phone or tablet with the Chrome browser, I get neither. I can request the mobile Chrome br...
